A taste of what’s coming

A PID controller, the workhorse of robotics, fits in one line:

$$u(t) = K_p\,e(t) + K_i \int_0^t e(\tau)\,d\tau + K_d\,\frac{de}{dt}$$

u = Kp * err + Ki * integral + Kd * (err - prev_err) / dt
